This breed has the ancestors whose history goes back to the Magyars who invaded Hungary from the east. The breed descended from the Turkish Yellow Dog, the Transylvania Hound and Weimaraner that were used to hunt the vast plains of Hungary where game birds and hare lived.

They are reliable with children and will quickly adapt to family life and also get along with household animals.
